I think that Microsoft FrontPage html editor is the thing for beginners and intermediate web masters to use. It has the "look and feel" of creating a Word document. It has a built-in FTP program for uploading your pages to your web server which is so easy that you feel that you are just saving the pages to your own computer. It is smart, and when your document contains images, it recognizes that fact, finds where the images are located and will send a copy of all the necessary images to your web server along with the web page so that they will all work together. You can basically modify the page in any way that you feel will give you a better chance of convincing the visitor to join or at least ask for more information.  At least ask the visitor to Bookmark your web site so that they can easily return.
